It all started in the summer of 2009. My wife and I had been trying a number of healthy diets to try and keep in shape, but a lot of these involved complex schemes, special foods, meetings, powders, shakes, money and TIME!
I had just been for an annual health check and my doctor advised me that I was a little over weight and that I could do with losing a few kilos. I had tried the cabbage soup diet in the past and although these proved to be quite effective I found them to be quite dull and boring and a real challenge to stick to for more than a week. In addition to this I detested the prospect of having to cut up the same endless vegetables, boil them and make huge vats of the same soup for the week.
At the start of the week the soup was quite nice but things began to deteriorate by the end of the week and then of course there are the "natural" side effects of eating vast quantities of cabbage and vegetables!
So, I set about trying to develop my own recipies that would have the same weight loss effect, were varied, healthy and tasty without the side effects too. I teamed up with a good friend of mine and Soup Club was born.
Together we developed some exciting and varied recipies. The soups are blended so they move through your body at a slower and more uniform rate meaning that energy is steadily released making you feel fuller for longer.
People tell us that they like the soups that we prepare for a number of reasons and not just to lose weight – we have all manner of customers. People like to take the blended soups to work for lunch because they are easy to fit into a bag or briefcase and prove to be a cost effective way to eat healthier as part of a balanced diet.
